A rhetorical strategy where a speaker feigns ignorance or plays dumb to expose the logical flaws, contradictions, or ignorance of an opponent. By adopting a posture of false humility, the speaker encourages others to share their ideas, ultimately leading them to discover their own misunderstandings.
